The Wine Cellarage offers a carefully chosen selection of wines on our website and in our sales room in New York. Our wine inventory is stored in climate-controlled conditions and we only purchase wines from suppliers who deploy best practices in the handling of wines. From its place of origin, through its journey to our warehouse, all wines in our inventory remain in climate-controlled conditions while in storage with us. Our facility is a constant 55 degrees with perfect humidity, providing ideal conditions for wine storage.
In addition to our New York-based wine shop and storage business, The Wine Cellarage specializes in wine relocations. Our logistics team ships thousands of cases of high-value wines every year. From a 120 case cellar removal in Chicago and move to a new home in Seattle to a multi-million dollar refrigerated air shipment to Tokyo, The Wine Cellarage has the logistics experience to move your wine collection safely.
The Wine Cellarage was founded in 2003 by Lars Neubohn. After a ten-year career in the financial services industry, Mr. Neubohn saw the need for a full service customer-focused wine storage facility in New York City. Originally established in Red Hook, Brooklyn, our business quickly outgrew its first location. In 2005, The Wine Cellarage moved to its current location in the American BankNote building, just north of Manhattan in the South Bronx. The BankNote building was purpose built in 1909 for the American Bank Note Company, a firm established in 1795 to print currency, postage stamps, war bonds and stock certificates. This landmark building is a concrete-encased steel frame structure and its massive industrial construction is both highly secure and ideal for wine storage. The Wine Cellarage is located in the center of this 400,000 square-foot fortress and houses over 15,000 cases and 25 million dollars’ worth of wine in temperature and humidity controlled conditions.
By combining customer service and operational execution, The Wine Cellarage has become one of the most reputable wine services providers in the Northeast.
