Ripe and chunky, shining a broad, concentrated beam of anise, black cherry and berry flavors through a veil of chewy tannins. Needs until 2000 to 2005 to sort out the tannins.
Prunotto has followed the gorgeous 1989 Barolos with three superlative performances in 1990. The 1990 Barolo Bussia is the most closed of the trio of large-scaled, traditionally made wines. Crammed with rich, glycerin-imbued, sweet, jammy fruit, considerable body and extraction, and a monster finish, it needs 4-5 years of cellaring. It is a candidate for 25+ years of aging..
