Pasquera’s structured 1997 Barbaresco Sori Paitin reveals more tannin and austerity than expected for this vintage. This is an excellent effort, offering notes of tobacco, spice box, licorice, and cherries as well as a touch of herbaceousness. Medium-bodied and firmly-structured, it requires another 1-2 years of cellaring, and should age for a decade or more. – Robert M. Parker, Jr. – 23.06.01
Moderately saturated medium red. Aromas of red berries, cherry, tobacco and smoky oak, plus hints of menthol, marzipan and nuts. Lush and creamy in the mouth, but the wine spicy character and harmonious acidity contribute to its excellent flavor definition and firmness. Finishes subtle and long, with dusty, even tannins.
