The deep ruby/purple-tinged 2003 La Cueva del Contador (100% unfined/unfiltered Tempranillo aged in French oak for 12 months) possesses terrific fruit as well as a firmer, more structured personality. Only 200 bottles were exported to the US, so only a handful of consumers will ever see this wine. - Robert M. Parker, Jr. - 28-08-2006
Dark red. Explosively fragrant aromas of dark fruits complicated by iron, licorice, incense and cured meat. Lush, sweet and deep, with liqueur-like intensity to the blackberry and cassis fruit flavors. Thick, velvety and long on the finish, with plush tannins, exotic oak spices and superb concentration and purity of fruit. -- Josh Raynolds
