A stunning effort, the black/purple-tinged 2004 Syrah Walker Vine Hill boasts tremendous intensity along with notes of creosote, blackberry liqueur, cassis, and flowers offered in a structured, dense, chewy style. It requires 2-3 years of cellaring, and should keep for 12-15. – Robert M. Parker, Jr. – 26-12-2005

Deep ruby. Youthfully compressed aromas of crystallized black cherry, violet, bitter chocolate and menthol. Offers a pungent, deep core of black fruit, mineral and mint flavors, with some new oak showing. At once powerful and fine-grained; this coats the entire palate. Finishes with huge tannins, firm minerality and lingering sweetness. Rather youthfully compact today and built to age.
