The assemblage is 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc; also grown in the same gravelly clay soils as the Fonchereau Blanc and Rosé and made with equally careful techniques. The wine goes through malolactic fermentation in barrels and is aged for 12 months in oak barrels (one-third new oak).
Tasting Note: The nose is vibrant with aromas of ripe black cherries, plums, vanilla bean, roasted coffee and mocha. On the palate, this Bordeaux blend is silky smooth, with sweet ripe fruit flavors.
