2007 Domaine Leroy Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Bright yellow. Wonderfully detailed, rather cool nose offers musky pineapple, minerals and wet stone. Bracing acidity gives the middle palate superb cut and grip, but the wine's utterly seductive stony perfume gives it early appeal. There's a captivating hint of sweetness on the very long, mineral-soaked finish. This has the structure to evolve slowly but it would not be a crime to try a bottle in the short term.
