A rich, ample Champagne, the 2008 Blanc de Blancs Grand Bouquet possesses gorgeous richness and intensity, not to mention fabulous balance. Dried apricots, flowers, chamomile, smoke and slate all take on an extra degree of delineation from the 68 months 2008 spent on its lees. Scents of candied lemon, hazelnut and white flowers develop later, adding to the wine’s beguiling aromatics. Veins of supporting acidity and minerality, signatures of the 2008 vintage, nicely contrast the density of the fruit and give the wine its bracing focus. There is a lot to like in this beautifully crafted Blanc de Blancs from Vazart-Coquart. Disgorged October 21, 2014. Dosage is 8 grams/liter. — 93 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous.
