Charming and supple, this cherry- and raspberry-infused red features an elegant frame. Floral and tobacco flavors converge as this builds to the long, lingering finish of spice, tobacco and mineral. Best from 2014 through 2025. 230 cases made. –BS
Over the last year, the 2009 Barbaresco Coparossa has developed into a more interesting and structured wine than the flagship Rabajà . Expressive floral notes resonate beautifully in a firm, beautifully balanced Barbaresco. Plum, espresso, tobacco, tar, rose petals and leather notes add complexity on the finish. Ideally, the 2009 is best cellared for another year or two to allow some of the tannins to soften further. The Coparossa has deeper color and higher acidity than the Rabajà .
