Monthelie Les Champs Fuillots boasts a complex bouquet of red berry fruit. Perfumed on the palate, this wine has charm, finesse and elegance. This wine pairs nicely with quail, hens, or other game birds.
Good deep red. Ripe, stony aromas of black cherry, bitter chocolate and licorice; more sophisticated than the Duresses. Then juicy, spicy and complex but tighter in the mouth, with subtle notes of fresh herbs, chocolate and spices. Finishes with fine-grained tannins, good grip and juicy length. This vineyard is not far from Volnay Clos des Chenes.
This is not as aromatically ripe and thus it’s a bit more elegant with a touch of minerality to the moderately ripe red pinot fruit aromas that introduce supple yet precise and admirably pure middle weight flavors that are shaped by very firm and dusty tannins on the balanced, persistent and mildly rustic finish.
