Subtle stone fruits and hazelnut on the sweet nose. A charmer with spine, offering flavors of lemon, acacia flower and stone framed by a refreshing lemony edge. Finishes with good length. Should offer early appeal.
The 2011 Saint Romain comes across as a bit four square and rustic. It possesses good depth, delineation and balance, but texturally it lacks that extra element of polish that might place it in a higher category. Still, it is a tasty entry-level offering. Anticipated maturity: 2012+.
A pungent nose of resin, citrus white orchard fruit and apple gives way to vibrant and well-detailed flavors that possess a hint of minerality on the balanced, dry and focused finish.
