Description

Angelo Gaja is without exaggeration the most influential and respected wine maker in all of Italy. This legendary winery goes back to 1859 and has been in the same family ever since. Current manager, Angelo, is credited with developing techniques that have revolutionized wine making in Italy and is said to be the “the man who dragged Piedmont into the modern world”. The quality of his wines is such that they have been described by Wine Spectator, a leading consumer wine publication, as “perhaps the finest Italian wines ever made.

In regards to this particular wine, it is a blend of Nebbiolo, Cabernet and Merlot (forming a Langhe Rosso!). The grapes are sourced from several estate-owned vineyards, among of which is the twenty-five-acre Sito Moresco vineyard in Barbaresco. It offers aromas of cherries and blackberries woven together with spices, leather and mint. This medium bodied red is refined with a fine texture and a pretty finish.
