Pretty oak nuances and soft fruit aromas open the bouquet of the 2012 Barbaresco Coparossa. This is an elaborate and sophisticated expression that does a great job of showcasing the quality of fruit farmed in this warm vintage. Bold structure and thick texture are followed by red cherry, rosemary bramble, spice and anise flavor. The wine is well integrated and balanced, albeit in a context that is shapely and opulent. -Monica Larner

The 2012 Barbaresco Coparossa has a bit more tannic backbone and bite than the Rabajà today. At the same time, the color, mid-weight structure and overall flavor profile hints at a wine that will evolve at a relatively rapid pace. Scents of orange peel, red stone fruits, herbs and white pepper add shades of dimension.
