The 2012 Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru Les Vergelesses comes from three parcels of vine just above Ile de Vergelesses. It has a lively, pure red cherry and wild strawberry bouquet that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is smooth on the entry with tensile tannins, notes of blackberry and strawberry and just a slight tapering on the finish. - Neal Martin, Dec 2013

Burghound (BH)

Here the nose is both riper and earthier though it retains the same lovely freshness on the mostly dark berry fruit scents. This is also quite fleshy and generous but with better depth to the medium-bodied flavors that offer good balance and fine length on the youthfully austere and moderately firm finale. - Tasted: Apr 15, 2014
