Pro Reviews

Wine Advocate (WA)

The 2012 Bouzeron is a three-hectare vineyard bought in 2011, pure Aligote Doree whose berries tend to be smaller and demand late picking. Frederic found that the barrels worked well with the grape and so the 2012 has more focus on wood, around 50/50 in tank and barrel. This sample had not been bottled yet. It has a fresh bouquet with touches of pine forest emerging in the glass. The palate has a clean, generous entry with hints of apricot and pear drop toward on the finish. It is very different from the normal Aligote, more taut and linear, perhaps even more Chardonnay in style. This is very attractive. – Neal Martin, December 2013
