2013 G.D. Vajra Dolcetto d’Alba Coste and Fossati

"A brilliant deep violent and a symphony of fruits, black cherries, owers, with notes of licorice and menthol radiate from the glass. So tannins for a Dolcetto easily able to age in time. Coste and Fossati: elegant, balanced and complex. For the love of tradition and terroir, Aldo Vaira made an unusual choice: to preserve old Dolcetto vines in the prestigious Barolo vineyards of Coste and Fossati. A choice which rea rms quality Dolcetto, coming from a precise and careful mass selection. By saving the picciolo rosso rootstocks, the vines are proudly more than one hundred years old. Thanks to the limited production of one bottle per plant, this Dolcetto expresses itself to the fullest with elegance and concentration." -- Winery Notes
