Wine Advocate (WA)
Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Lavrottes has a vexing nose that seems to show some volatility and animally/feral character that detracts from typicité. The palate is medium-bodied and here there is some brettanomyces character coming through that subdues the fruit towards the finish. It is not extreme, but it shaves away what could have been a much better wine. Tasted September 2016 – Neal Martin – 29-11-2016
