A powerful, authoritative wine, the 2014 Grand Mayne possesses remarkable pedigree and class. Black cherries, smoke, licorice, tobacco and menthol all hit the palate in a vertical, structured St.-Emilion built for the cellar. Readers will have to be patient here. Tasted twice.- Antonio Galloni
The Château Grand-Mayne 2014 has a perfumed, floral and endearing bouquet with beautifully interwoven new oak. There is a little more sophistication here compared to the previous three vintages. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity on the entry, threaded through ripe red cherries mixed with mint and star anis, finishing with a spicy flourish. This is a very fine Saint Emilion from Jean-Antoine Nony that scored above my expectations.
