The 2014 Chambolle Musigny Village comes from seven lieux-dits that total 1.41 hectares of vine. It has a rather conservative nose, earthy compared to others, more Morey-like in style than Chambolle — a leitmotif of this appellation, perhaps. The palate is structured with grippy, slightly chalky tannin. It feels quite compact in the mouth, masculine and a touch austere, though there is sufficient freshness on the finish to suggest that it will drink well over the next 5-6 years. – Neal Martin – 31-12-2015
