2014 KRSMA Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Hampi Hills

Description

Ruby red colour with a light violet hue. A fruit forward wine with a slightly floral nose and a palate comprising of red berries, cherries, velvety tannins finished very well with a hint of spice.

KRSMA Estates’ vineyard is perched on the slopes of Hampi Hills at an altitude of 590 meters above sea level. Hampi Hills, hitherto unknown for its wines or even as a wine producing region, is unique in many aspects. The terroir consists of iron-rich schist type soils, receives minimal rainfall and is cool during nights, especially at the time of ripening.

Founding Directors Krishna Prasad and Uma Chigurupati have spared no expense in ensuring the unique terroir expresses itself through their wines. They have used regulated deficit irrigation to make up for the low rainfall and an organic specific fertigation regime. Driving their effort to ensure that they reap the best of terroir, is their firm belief that ‘the best fertiliser for the vineyard are the owners’ footsteps’. -Winemaker’s Notes
