François Faiveley took over the domain at the age of 25. He was able to give it a new boost – using a precursor of the sorting table and carrying out cold macerations for example. At the same age as his father, Erwan Faiveley took over the domain in 2007, becoming the seventh generation. On his arrival, he renewed and reinforced his team and invested in the winery and the vineyards. He brought new dynamics to the family business, while remaining faithful to his predecessors’ values. -Domaine Faiveley website
Wonderful blackberry and blueberry aromas with stones and wet earth. Medium-bodied, tight and linear with fresh tannins and a beautiful finish. Very savory. Delicate finish. Needs time to come together. Drink in 2020.
Enough wood to remark upon frames ripe liqueur-like aromas of dark raspberry, plum and earth. The wood can also be found on the succulent, serious and dense middle weight flavors that coat the palate on the firmly structured finale. This rustic effort is rather old school in style and will require patience.
