Norman Hardie is a South African that has made wine in Burgundy, New Zealand and Oregon before deciding on the place that he would create his own estate. His wines are amazingly elegant, fine and minerally. Around Toronto he has emerged very recently as one of the top names, and for very good reason. The wines coming from here are called County for short, but until the production grows with the maturing vineyards there are also Niagara appellation wines from carefully selected, contracted sources. They run a first rate pizzeria at the winery to boot.
