The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny reveals pretty aromas of dark cherry, wood smoke and licorice, its oak more integrated than the corresponding Cazetiers. On the palate, the wine is round, full-bodied and ample, less taut and incisive than the Cazetiers and more gourmand, with juicy fruit and supple tannins.
