The 2017 501 offers a ripe, deep, elegant, well-defined and yeasty bouquet of grains, oak and ripe, thick-skinned pears. Full-bodied, dense and powerful, this is a dry, firmly structured but finessed and persistently salty Riesling with an enormously long finish. It has great expression and just a hint of very fine tannins. Very homogeneous and long. A great wine with structure and tension. Tasted in January 2019.
