Grower Champagne producers own their vineyards and grapes, overseeing the entire process from start to finish. This is in contrast to the big brand producers – the Grandes Marques Houses, who purchase their grapes from growers. The big name négociants and coopératives are without a doubt more well-known as they produce 80% of Champagne’s output while only owning 12% of the vineyards.
