2019 Fontanavecchia Taburno Falanghina del Sannio

Libero and Orazio Rillo and family run a great winery with the heart, passion and dedication of true farmers. They are in the town of Torrecuso in the Taburno area of Campania. They do a spectacular job in keeping the vineyards well manicured and you will find all indigenous grapes such as Falanghina, Coda di Volpe, Greco, Fiano, Aglianico, and Piedirosso. They make an exceptional Falanghina del Sannio DOC that is well perfumed, dry and very crisp but with a fuller more forward flavor as well. Aromas and flavors of dried apricot and candid fruit make it very difficult to put the glass down. The Gambero Rosso seems to agree, by giving Fontanavecchia Falanghina del Sannio the most coveted award, the Tre Bicchieri in the past 5 consecutive vintages; 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
